SFU GRAD SHORT FILM

This was my final short film for the SFU Contemporary Arts Film Production program. I spent the entire year working on this project by myself. Before making this short film, I had no previous experience or extensive education using 3d programs so I heavily depended on the following softwares. *I only take credit for directing the short film.

Adobe Fuse CC - Customize pre-built 3d models for the human characters.

Adobe Mixamo - Rig and animate the characters. Used a lot of their stock animation.

Reallusion iClone - To edit and assemble some hand-keyed animation with stock animation . Also, used it to pose the 3d characters and models in a virtual environment to get the correct camera angles to match with the backgrounds from the Unreal Engine.

Unreal Engine - To assemble and light procedural environments for the background plates using 3d assets purchased from UE4 Marketplace.

Reallusion Crazy Talk Animator - To rig, edit and assemble the 2d animation. Mostly used stock animation from the software mixed with some of my own hand-keyed animation.

Adobe After Effects - Compositing the renderings from iClone with the background environmental renderings from Unreal Engine.

Adobe Photoshop + plugins - Utilizing batch process mode went frame by frame to re-render the comp from After Effects to give the final rendering a painted look.

Adobe Premiere Pro - Assembly, Rough Cut And Final Picture Lock.

# I FIGHT FOR

*This micro short film was made to test out the production pipeline for my grad film. I only take credit for directing.

A short Synopsis:
Hope matters because it lives within all of us. It's the light that will guide us away from getting lost in the darkness. It's also the reason the future exists because without it, the dreamers won't be able to see beyond the present. This is the power of hope and what #I FIGHT FOR.

RUBBLE

This pitch was made for Storyhive 2017 Immersive Edition Competition. I created all the 3d models in the character design video. The 2D line animation was traced frame by frame from 3D animated walk cycles from stock animation.

NOTE: This is an immersive video so please use the 360 feature on VIMEO to explore the video.

RUBBLE was not selected for funding.

Logline:
This is a continuous story told from two different perspectives but linked by a destiny shared between a mother and her son living in a war-torn city.
